For years, Latoya Codrington searched for something that simply didn’t exist: a belly band that truly supported her growing bump and kept her skin moisturized, without staining her clothes or leaving her dry and itchy. She tried product after product, only to experience the same frustrations other moms often whispered about. Some bands offered no real support. Others caused irritation. Latoya knew there had to be a better way—not just for her, but for every woman navigating the beautiful, challenging journey of pregnancy.

So she began sketching, testing, and reimagining what a belly band could be. With every prototype, she put comfort first. She listened to other moms, compared their stories to her own, and created something that honored their needs. The result became the HydraHalo—an innovative, moisture-retaining, ultra-supportive undergarment designed to care for a mother’s body as it changes day by day. Latoya continued to use HydraHalo throughout each of her pregnancies, and she credits its gentle support and elastic satin lining for helping her body bounce back between the births of her five beautiful children.

By 2025, fueled by her own experience and the voices of countless women who deserved better, she officially launched Smooth Embracing—a company built with compassion, intention, and a deep understanding of motherhood. HydraHalo became the very first product in a growing line of undergarments designed to support pregnant and postpartum moms with love, comfort, and care.
